Radiance was started by Jessica Vellela (a holistic clinician) and Kush Sharma (a former biotech researcher). They teamed up to bring Jessica’s unique expertise to more people.

Jessica’s rare expertise is in the synthesis of Ayurveda and modern science.

Ayurveda, India's 3,000-year-old medical system, specializes in uncovering the root causes of disease, preventing illness, and creating holistic health.

Like yoga and meditation, Ayurveda is now gaining scientific validation. Studies have shown that there are a number of conditions where Ayurveda outperforms conventional medicine.

There are 379,000 Indian doctors with an integrative degree, combining Ayurveda and conventional medicine.

Jessica is the second-ever American-born individual to receive this training. She’s uniquely suited to bring this synthesis of ancient wisdom and modern science to Americans today.

Born, raised and educated in Boston, MA, Jessica Vellela (Jess) spent nearly eight years in India training in Ayurveda. There, she:

Became the second ever American to complete the Ayurvedic medical degree required of Ayurvedic doctors in India - graduating at the top of her final-year class

Co-authored textbooks with one of the leading Ayurvedic physician-scientists in India, Prof. Prasanth Dharmrajan
Opened her own treatment center and practiced independently for two years in southwestern India

In 2014, she returned to the US. In the last decade, she's:

Worked with 200+ clients with a wide variety of conditions
Trained a team of Ayurvedic Health Coaches through her professional school
Authored several scientific papers on the practice of Ayurveda

Jessica's aim is to synthesize the American worldview with the deep knowledge of Ayurveda. She's seen the enormous benefit this practice can bring, and is dedicated to bring it to more people.

Kush Sharma

CEO, Co-Founder

Prior to discovering Ayurveda, Kush was a biotech researcher. This gave him a deep appreciation for the advances of modern science, as well as a recognition of the limits of conventional medicine.
In his search for alternatives, he found Ayurveda. He initially alternated between skepticism and belief, but two things changed for him. He read the large body of scientific evidence for Ayurveda's efficacy, and had his own health transformed by working with Jess.
After total transformation over the course of three months, he knew Ayurveda needed to be brought to a wider audience. That led to the creation of Radiance.
